Since the AdSense policy explicitly allows simple text links, it seems like it would be an antagonistic move by Google to put these links on a publishers site without permission.  They would be direct competition to the &quot;Advertise on this Site&quot; type links that many publishers already have in place.</description>

I&#039;m curious whether Google will allow AdSense publishers to opt OUT of the program, and of course, you can have an &#039;advertise on this site&#039; link already on your site. But then you can&#039;t slip the ads that you&#039;ve sold into the Google AdSense block, so you&#039;d force a redesign of your site AND you can&#039;t have it look the same either (read the AdSense terms of service).</description>
